REVELATION 19: 16
As we start the month of August, what better way than to think about the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ! This verse is not talking about the rapture of the church, that happened back in chapter 4 of Revelation. This verse gives us the picture of the Lord coming with the armys of God with Him for the last battle of Armageddon. Notice as Jesus comes back to set up his thousand year reign on this earth, his vesture reads KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS! What a savior we serve!!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for being our Lord and Savior! 8/2/26
EXODUS 30: 1-5
As you read this scripture today I want you to keep one thing in mind. These directions come from almighty God. God expects the directions to be followed to the T as the old saying goes. We get in trouble today because we follow God's words and instructions as long as we are comfortable with them. This does not please God. God expects us as this text teaches for all of his instructions to be followed. Think about that today.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord help me to follow what you would have me to do today.
8/3/26
MATTHEW 8: 23-27
Today's text is one that the Lord allowed us to preach a message on recently here at victory. The message was something that time with Jesus Christ will bring into a person's life. Here they are from these short verses. Time with Jesus will bring a person peace in a storm, courage to the fearful, wisdom to the confused, comfort to the hurting, a love for the New Testament church, a burden for lost souls. With this in mind let's walk with Jesus today.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord allow me to have a closer walk with you today than I did yesterday.
8/4/26
II SAMUEL 12: 1-13
I know that today's text is a little long but very powerful. The prophet Nathan stands before King David and confronts him on his sin with Bathsheba and the murdering of her husband. Notice Nathan's words in verse #7. Today's lesson, when the Lord tells us to speak we had better speak. It took courage to do what Nathan did before the king but more than that it took a willingness to obey God.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord help me to always stand and obey you no matter what.

I CORINTHIANS 9: 22
I love this verse. Paul is telling us under the leadership of the Holy Ghost that we must be able to talk to people and to relate to people on their level. Paul is saying that I can relate to the weak, the strong. I can talk to all people about all things to win them to Jesus Christ. Remember this, I can't win anybody to Jesus if they can't relate to me. So talk to them about things they know, then tell them about Jesus. It's that simple.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Give me the words and the wisdom to lead others to Jesus on their level.
8/6/26
ECCLESIASTES 12: 13-14
The writer of this book under the leadership of the Holy Ghost had tried to figure life out. Today's text is his conclusion in the matter. Instead of trying to figure all things out in this world, remember, God is in control and God will be our judge someday. So in the meantime in this world fear God and keep his commandments. Sounds like good advice for today. Don't try to figure out everything today just trust God.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord help me to trust you even when I don't understand.
8/7/26
JOHN 13: 34-35
How much do I love the family of God? Notice verse 34 that what Jesus is saying here is a commandment not a suggestion. The Lord expects us if we are saved to love each other. I love verse #35. If we love each other here is how people will know that we belong to the Lord. Thank the Lord for the honor of being a part of his family.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for saving my soul and for making me a part of your family.
8/8/26
DEUTERONOMY 6: 13-15
I know that today's scripture is from the Old Testament and I know that the Lord was talking to his people. But the Bible teaches that God is not a respecter of persons. That means because we are adopted into the family through the blood of Jesus Christ this scripture applies to you and I too. Friends, we had better remember that God is a jealous God. We had better never, never put anything in front of him. PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord remind me to never place anything in my life in front of you.
8/9/26
LUKE 17: 11-19
Today's text should teach you and IA valuable lesson. Always be thankful unto the Lord for what he does for you and I. The story is simple. The Lord healed 10 men of leprosy. One came back to thank the Lord. Only one out of 10. The Lord asked the question where are the nine. Take note that the one that came back was a Samaritan, they did not like Jews. But the Samaritan came back and thanked the Lord. Let's thank the Lord today for all that he has done for us.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord thank you for all that you do for me always.
8/10/26
ISAIAH 9: 6-7
I know that some will think that this is Christmas scripture and why are we reading this text in the month of August. Friend, this is some of the greatest prophecy found in all of the Bible. The text tells us of the coming savior. It gives us his titles and it tells us of his 1000 year reign on this earth. Jesus has not fulfilled all of this text yet. But it is coming. What a savior we serve.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for being king of kings and Lord of Lords.
8/11/26
I CORINTHIANS 11: 23-25
As you read today's text it should sound familiar. This is the scripture we share when we are sharing the Lord's table. As you study these verses today take note of what Jesus did for you and I on that cross. He gave his body to die in our place. He gave his blood to pay our sin debt period notice the words in verses 24 and 25. In remembrance of me. We should always remember what the Lord did for you and I on that cross.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord somehow someway remind me daily of what you did for me on that cross.
8/12/26
PSALM 23: 5-6
Now anybody that knows this preacher knows that I like to eat. The verses today teach you and I that God will meet our daily needs if we trust in him and no one can take it away. The Bible also teaches that God will anoint my head and that God will send goodness and mercy always. Daily if I trust the Lord. Give him your whole world today.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord thank you for being such a great shepherd to me.
8/13/26
HEBREWS 13: 8
I know that we have shared this verse many times before. But the Lord keeps putting this on my heart for today. Somebody needs to hear this verse right now. God will never change period man may do you wrong, man may treat you different, but God never will. The Lord is the only one that will never change.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for never changing.
8/14/26
JONAH 1: 1-2
If you get the chance today please read all of the book of Jonah. It is a short book but very powerful. Today as we look at verses one and two notice what we discover about God's call. It's a personal call. The word of the Lord came unto Jonah. Then notice that God's call is purposed. Verse 2 says arise and go to Nineveh. Friends, today get into the word and pray and listen for the call of God.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord help me to always listen to your call. And help me to always obey that call.
8/15/26
ROMANS 5: 1-5
Today's text tells us how to get peace in this old world. Notice in verse one we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Remember this today, Jesus can give peace that the world cannot. No matter what you are facing today don't look to this world for peace. Remember that peace can only come from the Lord.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord remind us that real peace in this world comes from you and you only.
8/16/26
PSALM 37: 27
Today's writing is very short but powerful. Some good words to live by. Get away from evil and do good. The Bible even declares here if I do this I will live forever. Let's be like Daniel today and let's purpose in our hearts that we will only have what is in our hearts to live right.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord help me to live in a way that is pleasing to you today.
8/17/26
MATTHEW 18: 18-20
I know that we have looked at the scripture before but it is worth looking at again. There is power in prayer but there is even more power in prayer when God's people pray together. Notice in verse 20 when two or three of us gather together the Lord is in the midst. Never, never underestimate the power of prayer especially when God's people come together.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for the power of prayer.
8/18/26
GENESIS 1: 20-23
This old preacher loves to fish. I don't eat fish I guess because they are healthy. But I love to catch them and most of the time I put them back. But I love to see the beauty of the fish. Today's scripture reminds us as to where this beauty comes from. It comes from almighty God. Stop for a minute today and just look at God's creation all around us.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for the beauty of your creation.
8/19/26
ACTS 2: 37-41
In today's text we see the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the power of the word of God when it is preached. On the day of Pentecost when the church was born some 3000 souls were saved and added to the church on that day after Peter stood up and preached the gospel. Let's never forget the gospel of Jesus Christ is powerful. Remember this message of salvation can still change lives today.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for what you did on that cross for me.
8/20/26
PROVERBS 22: 6
I know that this text is well known but I think that we need to be reminded daily of raising our young people according to the word of God. The Bible reminds us here that teaching a young person about God must begin early in life. The word says train up a child not a young adult, not a teen but a child. One other thing, the way that this verse is talking about Jesus when Jesus said I am the way.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord please protect our children today and draw them to you.
8/21/26
ACTS 26: 24-28
In today's text Paul puts the gospel right in front of King Agrippa. But notice the King's response in verse 28, almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian. In my opinion these are some of the saddest words found in all of the Bible. Agrippa was so close to getting saved but he turned the Lord away. It touches my heart every time I read this scripture.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord I pray for the lost those without Jesus today to come to the Lord.
8/22/26
PSALM 27: 14
I don't know who but someone needs to hear this verse today. Don't get ahead of God. I am speaking from experience. I have done it before and there is not always a good outcome. Notice the Lord has the message given twice in this text, wait- wait I say. Take your time today and know that you are in the will of God.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Help me Lord to always wait upon you and be in your will.
8/23/26
REVELATION 4: 1-3
I love the Book of Revelation. John is experiencing the rapture of the church here. There are a lot of people who say that the rapture does not happen until later in the Book of Revelation but the truth is from this scripture the church is not mentioned again until the end of the book. Please share the gospel with someone today. If a person does not know Jesus Christ as savior they will be left behind.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord use me today to warn others about your soon coming return.
8/24/26
GENESIS 2: 1-3
Let's go back to the book of genesis today and be reminded of what God has done for us. Notice from this text that even God took a day off. Renita reminds me of that all the time period remember this, God sets the best example of all, take time to worship the Lord and to rest.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for setting examples before me.
8/25/26
LUKE 5: 31-32
Today's text reminds us as to why our savior came into this world. Jesus came for the sick. When you think of the word the Bible declares that all have sinned and fallen short. Therefore we all need Jesus. We all must repent of our sin and call on the Lord today.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord help me to spread the word that all have sinned and that all need Jesus Christ.
8/26/26
PSALM 51: 10-12
This is one of my favorite psalms in the Bible. David in this Psalm is acknowledging his sin before God. David asks God to give him a clean heart. I love verse 11. David asked God to please not cast him away from him. I love the first word of verse 12, restore. Sin can take our joy, our peace,, our very happiness. David was begging God to forgive him and to draw him back.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord help me to stay away from sin and to stay close to you.
8/27/26
MATTHEW 7: 1-2
I need to hear these words often. Jesus here reminds me not to judge others. Take notice in verse 2 if I judge others it will come back to me. Remember, when we judge someone else we don't know what they are really going through. So let's spend more time praying for others instead of judging them.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord help me to love others more and help me Lord to pray for others more than judging them.
8/28/26
ISAIAH 1: 18
It has been a while since I shared this verse. The Lord reminds us today that my sin may not look good but the Lord can make them as white as snow. Remember this, the Lord is the only one that can do this today. What a change the Lord can make in a life.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you for that soul cleansing power and the blood of the lamb.
8/29/26
JOHN 3: 1-15
I know that today's reading is a little long but it is so good. Old Nicodemus was a pharisee, a leader among the Jews, but Nicodemus got an education about the things of God from the son of God Jesus Christ. If I am born again today I need to spread the word. I come to know God when I am born again, when I am saved.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord help me to spread the word that all must be born again.
8/30/26
JEREMIAH 33: 3
Somebody needs to hear this message today. No matter what you are facing today call on the Lord. He will not only answer you but he will have the answer for you. I know that I say this a lot, but I love this verse.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord give me wisdom today that can only come from you.
8/31/26
I CORINTHIANS 1: 27
This is my verse. This verse explains why God called me to preach. You don't get any more foolish than this old preacher. You see, God does not call us for our wisdom or our education or our good looks. God calls us to trust him for our wisdom our strength and our very salvation. What a God we serve. Let him use you today.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for the honor to serve you.
