I SAMUEL 6: 19-21 As we start the month of July, today's text Reminds us that God means what he says. God had warned over and over again that if anybody looked into the ark without the permission and direction of God's people would die. The men here did not listen. The men were destroyed. Friends it is a dangerous thing to play with a holy God. God is love but when God says for us not to do something we had better listen to him.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord thank you for your word. Help me Lord to always obey you.

MARK 9: 14-27
Today's reading is a little long but powerful. A demon possessed boy is brought to Jesus for help. Apparently the boy was brought to the disciples but they could not cast the demon out. When brought to Jesus the boy was made whole period but the key to this text was found in verse 23. If we can believe all things are possible With God. Today's lesson is this, it does no good to pray if we don't believe that the Lord can take care of things, there will be no answered prayers.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord please forgive me for my disbelief Lord please increase my faith.

PSALM 37: 1-2
Today scripture gives us a big lesson. Don't get your eyes on those that don't trust God. Don't get upset because it seems like they are doing fine. Verse 2 and this text tells us what what happened to them. They will fall and be destroyed. The point, keep our focus on the Lord today and not men.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord help me to keep my eyes off of man, even so-called wealthy men, and help me to keep my focus on you instead.

PSALM 33: 12
On this 250th birthday of our nation we had to stay in the psalms today. There are those who say that America is not a Christian nation but if you go to Washington you will see scripture all over the buildings and monuments in that city. America was built on the principles of the Bible, the word of God. Forget politics today, let's thank God that we are Americans.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for our nation. Please draw this nation back to you.

I CORINTHIANS 15: 51-58
I have used this text at a lot of funerals over the years period but the truth is the text is not just dealing with death the scripture is dealing with the rapture of the church. The Bible reminds us that this will happen very very fast. Verse 52 reminds us that it will happen in the twinkling of an eye. If you and I are saved today, if we are born again into the family of God, Jesus is coming for you I.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord As bad as this old world has gotten come Lord Jesus come.

GENESIS 1: 14-19
Have you ever during a power outage walked into a room and turned the light on over and over again even though you know the power is off? Well today's text just reminds you and I where the light in and around the world comes from. Almighty God has made the sun, the moon and the stars. God knows how to brighten our days. We should praise him today.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord remind me that there would be no light in this world at all without almighty God.

REVELATION 1: 3
I once heard a preacher on the radio say I will never try to teach the Book of Revelation because the Lord never meant for us to understand this book. Well, if that is the case, where did this verse come from? The Bible tells us here that you and I will be blessed if we read this book and we will be blessed if we believe and keep the book period now I don't know about you, but I want that blessing. Read this book and believe this book and be blessed.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord thank you for the Book of Revelation. Thank you for showing us what is to come.

PROVERBS 30: 11-14
Today's verses could have come right out of a newspaper. The Lord gave me a message years ago on this text. The message was entitled the generation in which we live. As you read these verses today take note that each of the things mentioned in these verses today are happening today in our society. Jesus is coming soon.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for showing us the world around us in your word.

ROMANS 13: 11-14
Today's scripture reminds us of one thing, Jesus is coming. Verse 11 and 12 remind us that we had better be closer than ever before to the Lord. He is coming to get his church. Verse 13 reminds us to practice righteous living. I love the message in verse 14, put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ. We had better be more like Jesus than ever before. The closer we get to the rapture of the church the more like Jesus that we should become.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Come Lord Jesus come!

PROVERBS 29: 18
Today's message is twofold. This message is for the church and for the child of God. If the church does not have a vision for the Lord it will die. That is why there are many dead churches about us today. The child of God is the same. If we don't have a vision, a work to do for the Lord, we will become useless before the Lord. Let's set visions today in our world to win more to Jesus than ever before.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord help me to win souls to Jesus. Help me Lord to be a better light for the gospel of Jesus Christ than ever before.

LUKE 6: 27-36
Today's reading is a little long but with some great lessons. If you and I know Jesus Christ as our savior we will have enemies in this world. The teachings of Jesus are so different from the teachings of the world. The world teaches to hate them fact that hate you. Jesus teaches to love your enemies. The world teaches to do bad deeds to them that do bad deeds to you and I, but Jesus teaches that we should return good for evil. Read this scripture a couple of times prayerfully today. It will speak to your heart.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Help me Lord to love and treat my enemies better than they treat me.

MATTHEW 5: 14-16
Am I letting my light shine for the Lord today? The light is the Jesus shining through you and I. In other words don't show others you and me let's show others the Holy Ghost doing a work for the Lord before this old world. I love this text. Our goal, our prayer every day as that people would see Jesus instead of me in front of them.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord please use me this day as a witness for you.

EXODUS 22: 20
Today's text, well it does not need much explaining. God tells us over and over again in his word that we are not to put anything in front of him. Notice the text today is pretty straightforward. If God's people sacrifice unto any god except the Lord that person will be utterly destroyed. Don't put anything in front of God. PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord help me to keep my eyes, my heart, my all on you daily.

Today scripture could be called some Bible truths for daily living. As you read and study these verses today let them speak to your heart and practice their teaching. I promise these principles will not hurt you. These principles will help us if we use them this day.

PSALM 107: 1-2
Here is the question of the day. Am I ashamed to let other people know that Jesus Christ is in my life? First one here tells us to give thanks to the Lord. Verse 2 here goes even further period it tells us to say to others whom we belong to. Never, never be ashamed to let others know that Jesus is in the center on the old world.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord please help me to let the world know today that I belong to Jesus.

ACTS 16: 25-34
I love this scripture. I know that I save that a lot, but I really do. As you read this text today notice that Paul and Silas had every reason to complain. They were in jail because of casting a demon in Jesus name out of a young girl. But instead of being angry and whining they sing praises to God and prayed. As a result the Lord freed them and they won the jailer and his family to Jesus. The point, no matter what you or I are going through we should praise God anyhow.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord help me praise you today no matter what I face.

PSALM 23
OK, today is my birthday. So on my birthday I'm going to share one of my favorite scriptures. I love Psalm 23. This Psalm has so much in it. The spirit of God showed me many years ago that it also has the very personality of God within it. Our God is a personal God. Our God is a persistent God. Our God is a protective God. Our God is a providing God. Thanks for letting me share one of my favorite texts in the word on this birthday.

GALATIANS 2: 20
Today's text just reminds us what Jesus Christ has done for you and me. Jesus was crucified for your and my sins. It should have been you and I on that cross. Jesus died so that you and I could live. I love the last line in this verse, who loved me and gave himself for me. I know that I say this a lot, but what a savior we serve.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for what you did for me on that cross.

GENESIS 2: 21-25
In this text we are reminded that man or doctors did not do the first anesthesia surgery. It was almighty God that used anesthesia first period the Bible declares that the Lord put Adam to sleep and took out a rib and made a woman from that rib. Today's lesson, God is much wiser than man. No matter what you and I have learned or will learn today, God already knew it.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord I want to praise you for who you are.

EPHESIANS 2: 8-9
Today's reading reminds us that you and I can't save ourselves. We can't work hard enough, we can't pay enough, we can't do enough good deeds to be saved. Notice these verses. We are saved by grace, through faith. Not through works. That means God has done the work period only the Lord can do the saving.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for paying a sin debt that you did not owe. Thank you for dying in my place. Thank you for making the way for me to be saved.

HOSEA 14: 1-7
In today's text God is asking Israel, his people, to return to him. Notice in verses 4 through 7 that God will take them back, God will heal their backsliding, if they will just repent of their sin and return to him. God is no respecter of people today. If we will repent and come back to him today he will do the same for us.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for being willing to forgive and take us back in.

ROMANS 14: 8
This verse is to the point. Whether we live or whether we die we belong to the Lord. Think about this today. When I was born again into the family of God I became the property of Jesus Christ. That means that no one can take me away from Jesus. So no matter what I am facing today, remember I am not alone because I belong to the Lord.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord I am so thankful to be a part of your family today.

ISAIAH 40: 28-31
I really felt that someone needed these verses today. No matter what today, if I am trusting the Lord, he will give me understanding. He will give me power to go on. He will give me strength and I will be able to go forward. Look up today because the Lord is still in control.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord I am going to trust you today to get me through.

HEBREWS 11: 1-6
Hebrews Chapter 11 is known as the faith chapter in the Bible. In this chapter you will find many examples as to what will happen in a person's life if they trust the Lord and have faith in him. As you read this text take notice of verse six. It is impossible to please God without having faith in him. Remember this, how can you trust someone who you don't believe in? The answer is you can't. Put faith and trust in the Lord today. He is there.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord help me trust you more today than ever before.

ECCLESIASTES 12: 1
OK, maybe you are like me, and you are no longer considered a youth. This life is short period the Bible declares what is your life, it is even a vapor. Our time on this earth is short period even if we live to be 100 that is a short amount of time compared to eternity. There is so little time from the cradle to the grave. So this day let's remember our creator and remember all the things that he has done for us.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for allowing me to be born into this world. And thank you Lord for allowing me to be born again.

EPHESIANS 5: 21-24 & 32
Even though this text starts out today talking about husbands and wives, we are told in verse 32 that Paul is talking about Christ. The point is this, Jesus Christ is the head of the church. The church is subject to our answers to Jesus. Jesus loved the church and died for it. Friends the point is this. The church today needs to remember that it belongs to the Lord and the Lord is the ruler of the church. Remember this, man's will does not matter in our churches, the Lord's will does.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord bless our church and guide our church and use our church to your glory. Have your will.

EXODUS 33: 20-23
In today's text Moses is on the mountain. Moses wants to see God. Notice the statement that God makes to Moses in verse 20. The Lord basically told Moses that no man can see the face or glory of God and live period now God did allow Moses to stand upon a rock and as God passed by Moses and covered Moses with his hand. Think about the power of the glory of God. Remember this, years later when Jesus Christ walked upon this earth Jesus said I and my father are one. Stop and think about that today. What a God we serve.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Almighty God thank you for allowing me to be in your presence through your son Jesus Christ. What an honor to know and serve you.

I PETER 5: 8-9
The Holy Ghost is putting on my heart today to share these verses. Somebody reading this is being pushed around by the devil today. The Lord kept leading me to remind you today that the devil is a bully. In the name of Jesus remind him that you belong to the Lord. Verse 9 here tells us to resist him in the faith. That resist means to stand upon the word of God and call upon the name of Jesus Christ. Serve the Lord to day instead of fearing the devil.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord give me victory over the devil today in the name of Jesus Christ.

PROVERBS 24: 20
A short verse today but a big message. God will not bless or reward evil living, living that is against the word of God. Notice the second part of this verse, The candle of the wicked shall be put out. The Lord is saying that the wicked will not do their bad deeds forever. Those deeds will be stopped. People need to hear this message today, the Lord can save us from the wicked person. Whosoever that shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Share this message today.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord thank you for saving me from the wicked people of this world.

I CORINTHIANS 6: 18-19
Today's scripture has a big message to every born again, blood bought child of God in Jesus Christ. If you and I are saved the Holy Ghost is living in our souls. Think about that period from the 2nd that I asked the Lord to forgive me of my sins and ask the Lord to save my soul and to come into my world the Holy Ghost comes into my soul. He goes wherever I go. He never leaves me. He never leaves they. Remember this wherever I go he is with me.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you for never leaving me Lord.

PSALM 113: 1-6
Let's finish the month praising the Lord. Read over these verses several times today. Let the word of God speak to your heart today. Take note of verse 3, the Lord needs to be praised at all times. Let's go into the new month praising the Lord. July might have had its hard days but the Lord deserves our praise in August.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for your grace in July. I want to start August by praising your name.
