LUKE 16: 19-25
OK, I know that this scripture is not pretty! It is not comforting. But it is true! People need to hear that Hell is a real place! People need to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Today’s text is not a parable, which is an earthly story with a heavenly message. Jesus often used parables to teach. But this is a real happening. This story really happens. As you read this scripture today keep that in mind and let’s warn someone today about the place of Hell!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, help me and guide me to share Jesus with someone today.
6/2/25
JEREMIAH 6: 16
Notice the commands in this verse. The Lord says stand! Then, God says “and see”. Then the Lord says “ask”. Then the Lord tells us to seek for “the old paths”. Everybody today is trying to do things their own way. As a pastor, I hear all the time “we cant serve God the old fashion way, we must keep up with the times”. Well, maybe we should listen to God’s word here and do things God’s way!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, remind me to see the old paths!
6/3/25
LUKE 21: 1-4
I love this text! This poor little widow lady taught a lesson to the rich men. Jesus told them (the rich men) that this woman cast in more than all the others. Why did the Lord make this statement? Well, notice verse 4 she “cast in all the living that she had”. She gave all she had! Sometimes we are proud of ourselves for giving the amounts we give, think about it. This woman gave all she had! Remember this, a person can never out give God!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, remind me that all that I have belongs to you!
6/4/25
PROVERBS 22: 12
Have you ever heard the words of a transgressor? Well, at one time or another we have all been a transgressor, a sinner. According to the Bible here, the Lord see and preserves knowledge. Think of it this way. A person really does not begin to be wise until they come to know the Lord. I don’t know about you, but I have spoken many foolish words in my life. But when I let the Lord speak to me out of His word I find real knowledge!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, please always guide my tongue to speak wisely!
6/5/25
NUMBERS 11: 1-3
Have you ever seen someone have enough, then they become angry? This is what is happening in today’s scripture. The Lord has protected His people, God has fed His people, God has sent a leader to His people, yet they complained and complained and the Lord had enough and His anger was kindled! Friends, it is never a good thing to make God mad! What can kindle the anger of God even against His own people? Complaining, disobedience, bad behavior are just a few the Bible warns of. So today, let’s do our best not to make God mad.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, help me to ever be faithful to you and help me to never anger you.

MARK 11: 15-19
Jesus taught us a valuable lesson in today’s text. The house of God is to worship God. It is a house of prayer. It is not a den of thieves! It is not a place to make money! Notice the actions of Jesus. He cast out the money makers (self gain). He turned over their tables. Then He told them they should already have known. It is God’s house and it must be treated with respect!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, please bless the house of God today and help us to keep it holy!

ISAIAH 1: 18
OK, I know that in months past we have shared this before, but this is worth sharing again. The Lord is the only one in the universe that can take sin and wash it away to make a person as white as snow! The blood of Jesus Christ can clean a person up, can wipe away the guilt of sin. I love the first two words of this verse “come now”. Maybe we should share these words with somebody today.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, help me to share the message of the blood of the lamb with someone today!
6/8/25
HEBREWS 9: 15-22
The power of the blood. If today’s text had a title, that would be it. This scripture reminds us of the blood from the old covenant or the Old Testament. You see, sin can only be covered by blood. Something or someone must die to pay the price of sin. In the Old Testament it was animals. In the New Testament it was Jesus Christ. That is what makes Jesus the perfect Savior! Jesus shed that perfect blood for you and I. Jesus died to pay that sin debt once and for all. What a Savior – What a Savior!!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for shedding that perfect blood for me!

PROVERBS 6: 16-19
OK, it is one thing to have someone mad at us for something that we do, that they hate! It is another thing to have Almighty God mad at us. As you study this text today, take note that the first five items are body members that can mage GOD angry. The eyes, tongue, hands, etc… It is number 6 where the person is spoken about. “He that soweth discord among brethren”. Let’s try not to do things that God hates today!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, forgive me of my sins, in Jesus name!
6/10/25
PHILIPPIANS 1: 21
Have you ever heard the term “I am a winner either way”? Well, today’s text leads in that direction. Think about it. Paul, under the leadership of the Holy Ghost, was stating if I am alive on this earth today, I get to serve Jesus Christ. If I die today, I get to go be with Christ. Paul was going to be a winner. Let’s set in our hearts and heads today that Jesus is where peace and joy and life come from!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, take my life, my world, my all to your service.
6/11/25
MALACHI 3: 8-10
We must give to God what belongs to Him. Understand, God is not after our money nor does He need our money. The tithe is an act of obedience before Almighty God. We need to give to God that tithe so what we can be blessed and not cursed by God! Notice where the tithe is to go. Verse ten states into the storehouse. That today would be the house of God or the church. God even tells us to try tithing and see if it works. Notice verse 10 again. God said “prove me”. In other words, try me. God will bless and pour out a blessing if we in faith give the tithe to Him.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, remind me every week to give you what you ask of me-my tithe in faith!
6/12/25
ACTS 9: 1-8
Today’s scripture tells us about Saul or Pauls conversion. A testimony can and should be a great witness tool. As you read this text today, think about your own testimony. Where did I get saved? When did I get saved? What did the Lord use to reach my heart? Was there a bright light like Paul saw or was there someone who the lord used to bring me to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ the Son of God? Now, share that story with everyone you can on how I got saved!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, help me to share my testimony today with someone.
6/13/25
HOSEA 14: 1-3
Today’s text is a call for revival for the nation of Israel. God told His people here to return to the Lord thy God. As God called them to return, He asked them to repent of their sin. Verse 2 tells us “say unto him take away all iniquity”. God tells His people in verse 3 that other nations or false gods cannot save them. Friends, I believe that our nation today needs to hear these words. We sure have strayed away from God. Our churches, just as Israel, need revival!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, please send revival to our nation!
6/14/25
JOHN 1: 11-14
You hear me say this often- Jesus Christ-what a Savior! But I often think of how many people around you and I every day, just don’t get it. Verse 11 here tells us that the Jews, God’s chosen people, missed who Jesus is. Verse 12 tells us that all can be saved if we trust Him. As many as received him. The Bible clearly tells us in verse 14 whom Jesus is, was and always shall be. God in human flesh. It should bother you and me today that many people don’t understand or get this message. If a person goes through this life and has riches and material possessions but never understands who Jesus is, they have missed everything, Tell others about Jesus today!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, allow me to share the Gospel with others today!
6/15/25
II SAMUEL 22: 1-4
The Psalm of David should sound familiar. Psalm 18:2 shared these same truths. David had a lot here to thank the Lord for. God had delivered him from Saul. Here is my thought for today. It is good to thank the Lord for delivering us from the world and our enemies, when He does. But we should thank the Lord and praise the Lord every day for being our rock, our fortress, our deliverer. As David put it in verse 4, the Lord is worthy to be praised-every day-every hour!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for being my rock, my shield, my high tower, my refuge, my Savior. Thank you Lord for letting me serve you!
6/16/25
MATTHEW 27: 26-31
Sometimes it is a good thing just to stop and remember what Jesus did and what He went through for you and me. Remember, Jesus could have stopped this. He had not done anything wrong. He went through all of the pain, the beatings, the pain of the cross for my sin and your sin. He who knows no sin died for our sins! Verse 30 always touches my heart. They spat upon him. I know I say this a lot-but what a Savior we serve!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: For lack of better words, thank you Jesus for all that you did for me!
6/17/25
JONAH 4: 1-3
Have you ever trusted the Lord but things did not turn out the way you thought they should have? That is what happens to Jonah. When Jonah finally obeyed the Lord and did what God wanted him to do, Jonah did not like the outcome. Jonah wanted the Lord to destroy the people of Nineveh, but God had mercy on them because they repented of their sins. So Jonah got mad. Sometimes we act that way. We don’t get our way so we get upset. It is a good thing that God is slow to anger and slow to wrath!”
PRAYER FOR THE DAY:  Lord, help me to know your will and help me to do your will.
6/18/25
I CORINTHINAS 12: 12-20
The Bible reminds us today, as born again children of God, we are all a part of the body of Christ. We each have our own responsibilities to fulfill. As the scripture teaches today, we all have our jobs in the work of the Lord to do. Not everybody is a foot, not everybody is an eye, not everybody is a hand. But put it all together, we can do a work for the Lord. Verse 20 put it together, “but now are they many members, yet but one body”. Let us find our talents and gifts and serve the Lord with them!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, use me in the family of God to be a blessing.
6/19/25
GENESIS 3: 9-13

Have you ever got in trouble and blamed it on someone else? That is what Adam did here. When he partook of the fruit he was told to stay away from, he blamed everyone but himself. Notice verse 12 “the woman whom thou gavest to be with me”. Adam blamed God for giving him the woman. Then, Adam blamed the woman- “she gave me of the tree”. Lets take a lesson from Adam. Let’s take the blame when we do wrong.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, please forgive me for doing wrong!
6/20/25
II TIMOTHY 3: 16-17
The power of the word of God! Sometimes we need to be reminded where the Bible comes from. The Bible came from God! The Bible is God’s word. How do we know that? Because the scripture here says “all scripture is given by inspiration of God”. That means scripture is God breathed. Man may have penned it down, but God gave it, God spoke it. Never doubt the Bible. It does not contain the word of God, it IS the word of God!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for your word! Please grow me in your word!
6/21/25
DANIEL 2: 25-30
In today’s text, Daniel told the kind in no uncertain terms that men could not answer all questions. Daniel was letting the king know that man may not have the answers about the dream, but there is one that does know all. I love the statement in verse 28 “but there is a God in Heaven that revealeth secrets”. Daniel gives us a truth here that the whole world needs to hear. Man does not know everything but God does! Today’s lesson- trust God more than man!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, remind me to always get my wisdom and to seed my wisdom from you!
6/22/25
PHILIPPIANS 4: 19
I really believe that we often get our needs and our wants mixed up. The Bible here teaches me that God will take care of my needs. Anything or everything I need, God will have for me. I need food to live, I need water to live, I need shelter to live, I need body covering to live. Think about it. The list I just mentioned are needs, but what more do we add to that list today and claim they are needs. A big car, a big house, a million dollars, new clothes, etc… Do you see my point? God will supply what I need, if I trust Him, not always what I want.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY:  Thank you Lord for always making sure that I have what I need.

6/23/25
EXODUS 14: 21-29
Today’s reading might be a little long, but man oh man it is powerful. The power of God is all over this scripture. Notice how that Moses was instructed to stretch out his hand over the sea, what happened? The waters parted and God’s people went across where the water had been-but on dry land! Then, after Pharaoh’s army of chariots went in after them, God tells Moses again in verse 26 to stretch out his hand over the sea and the water came down on the Egyptians. The lesson here, the power of God is mighty!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, would you use the power of God in my life today!
6/24/25
JOHN 8: 34-36
There are two very strong lessons in today’s reading. First, if a person commits sin openly in a life, that person is a servant of sin. Second, when Jesus sets a person free from sin, that person is free! Think about this today. If I will ask the Lord Jesus today to free me from sin, He will and I can then have victory over sin indeed!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, free me from the bondage of sin!
6/25/25
DANIEL 3: 14-19
What a bad situation or spot to be in. If the three Hebrew boys fell down and worshipped a statue that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up for that purpose, then they would be sinning against Almighty God. But if they refused, the kind would put them into a burning, fiery furnace. What a dilemma! Be true to God or die. Which would you do? Now, if you read the rest of the chapter, you will find out that they obeyed God and God delivered them. But what would you and I do today? Think about it!!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, help me stand and obey you, no matter what!
6/26/25
COLOSSIANS 1: 12-17
Wow! What a heavenly Father! Toda’s text reminds us that we should be giving thanks unto the Father (v 12). Because as a born again child of God, we are a part of His inheritance. By His Son, Jesus Christ, He has delivered us. He has redeemed us (v 14) and He has created us (v 16). Let’s just spend time today thanking and praising Almighty God for all that He has done for us!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for all that you have done in my life!
6/27/25
JOSHUA 24: 14-15
This text kind of reminds me of the choice the three Hebrew boys had to make the other day when we were in the book of Daniel. Joshua really put the question to the people of God in today’s scripture. There will come a time for all of us when we must decide if we will serve God or false gods or the world. Think of it this way. Our life on this planet, our testimony, our very future may depend on the choice we make! Let’s choose the Lord!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY:  Lord, please always guide my every decision. 6/28/25
PHILIPPIANS 3: 17-21
Verse 17 in today’s text is powerful! Paul told the church at Philippi to follow him as an example in his testimony for the Lord (v 20). Here is my question for today. Could you and I tell others that very thing- to follow me as I share Jesus? Follow me in the example that I live daily for the Lord. Give this some thought today as you study this scripture.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, help me by your grace to live in a way that will be an example for you!
6/29/25
ZEPHANIAH 1: 14-18
Today’s scripture deals with the great day of the Lord (v 14). But take notice that this is not necessarily a good day. As a matter of fact, the Bible in this text is talking about a time of wrath on man. The Bible declares in verse 17 that God will bring distress upon men. Verse 18 even tells us that money cannot deliver a person from this day of wrath. Here is the bottom line, God’s wrath is coming on this world. I had better know that I am right with the Lord right now! Let’s do some self- examining right now and make sure that everything is alright between me and the Lord!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, please help me to live closer to you than ever before!
6/30/25
HEBREWS 13: 8
Have you ever been around a moody person? One day they speak and talk and the next day they will not acknowledge they know you? I don’t know about you, but I have been around these type of people. That is not how the Lord acts. The Bible declares here that Jesus is the same all of the time. Think about that a minute. The word said He is the same! If I trust Him, He will always be there. He will always hear my prayers if I trust Him. He will always go with me through everything, every day, if I trust Him. Why would I not trust Him?
PRAYER FOR THE DAY:  Thank you Lord for never changing!
