DEUTERONOMY 31: 6-8
As we start the month of May, let's start it with enjoying words from today's text. Notice in these verses as the Lord is talking to the Israelites the words of encouragement in troubled times. The Lord tells them in verse 6 to be strong and of good courage. The Lord even tells his people not to fear. Verse 8 here reminds us that the Lord will go before his people and the Lord reminds us that he will not leave or forsake his people. No matter what you are facing today remember God will never go back on his word. These verses still apply to you and I.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for the encouragement. Thank you Lord for your promise to never forsake or leave me period

MATTHEW 9: 9
Today’s reading is short but powerful. When you came to Jesus Christ as savior and Lord did you follow the Lord the first time that he called you? Notice in the verse Matthew, the tax collector, did. The Bible says that when Jesus told Matthew follow me he arose and followed him. Some don't listen the 1st second or third time that is why we must not give up on a person. If at first they don't give heed to the gospel keep on telling them and keep on praying for them.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: God help me to be a better stronger soul winner for you. Help me to not give up on people.

I KINGS 11: 4-6
It has been a while since we shared this text. Friend let's never, never do what Solomon did here. Never allow anyone to turn our heart from the Lord as Solomon allowed his wives to do. Notice what the results were in verse six. Solomon did evil in the sight of the Lord. Today keep this in mind you and I should never allow anyone to come between you and the Lord.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord help me to always put you first in my life. Please protect me from listening to others instead of listening to you.

JOHN 11: 25-26
OK I know that I say this a lot, but I mean it. I love these verses. Child of God don't waste time worrying about death. If we have loved ones that have died before you and I and they put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ and you know Jesus as savior and Lord we will be together again. The Lord does not lie. He is the resurrection and the life. Jesus has defeated death period to anyone that knows Jesus Christ as savior and Lord death is not a big deal. PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord help me to share this message today. The message that you have defeated death. 5/5/26
GENESIS 2: 21-25
Every now and then we need to remember where marriage came from. According to the Bible here marriage came from God. Notice also verse 24 reminds us who marriage was made for, a man and a woman. The devil has lied so much to people today that marriage has become sin before almighty God. God never intended for two men to get married or for two women to get married. You see man's opinion does not matter on marriage only God's opinion is important.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord please bless marriages today between men and women. Lord our help our homes be that which is pleasing to you.

ROMANS 10: 9-13
Sometimes I believe that we should be reminded how a person can get saved. This scripture does just that. As you study these verses today remember Jesus Christ has done the work period he died on that cross for our sins. He came out of that grave and defeated death, hell, and the grave. Today's text tells us that we must believe what the Lord has done and we must repent of our sins and call upon the Lord. Share this message with others today. PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Jesus for what you have done for me. Give me the wisdom to share this with others today.

PSALM 133: 1-3
Today's text teaches us that God wants his people to get along. The Bible tells us in verse one here that God expects and wants the brethren to dwell together in unity. Notice the next two verses tell us that it is precious and that it is as dew. It is very important to God for his people to be in one accord.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord give me a heart to love the brethren more today than ever before. Remind me they leave that in Jesus Christ we are all family.

MARK 10: 46-52
Today's text reminds us that Jesus cares. Take notice as you study this scripture today that Jesus listened when Bartimaeus cried out. Notice the Lord cared enough to ask what the need was. And notice that Jesus cared enough to heal him. So no matter what the world or the devil tells you today someone does care and his name is Jesus.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for caring for me. Thank you Lord for being there when I need you.

JOB 42: 10-13
If you know anything of the story of Job then you know that Job went through some hard days. Lost his wealth, his children and his health. But Job still put his trust in the Lord. Even when 3 so-called friends came along and discouraged job more than comforting him Job still put his trust in the Lord. Notice in verse 10 that God blessed his faithfulness by giving Job twice as much as he had before. The point, no matter what you are going through today trust the Lord anyhow. God will not only bring you through it but God will bless you even more in the end.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord help me to always keep my focus on you no matter what I am facing.

JOHN 19: 17-22
A few years ago I had the privilege to go to Israel. While I was there I stood at the base of a hill called Golgotha. When I looked at that hillside the rocks on the side of that hill looked just like a skull. On the top of the hill you could see 3 Wooden Crosses. My point for today God's word is true. The Bible can be trusted. I have seen the evidence.

PSALM 32: 1-2
Real blessings. If I were to ask you today has God blessed you. If you are like me you would say yes with a roof over my head, clothes on my back, shoes on my feet and food on my table. All these things are true but the Bible teaches that a person is really blessed when their sin is forgiven. Notice verse 2 here teaches that the person who is blessed is the person who God does not hold their sin against.
PRAYER FOR THE Day: Thank you Lord for really blessing me and taking away my sin when I repented.

MATTHEW 16: 24-26
Have you ever thought about the value of a soul? Today's scripture tells us that the soul is priceless. Jesus tells us what have we gained if we get the whole world but lose our soul. Why did I make this statement that the soul is priceless? Notice verse 26 Jesus said what shall a man give in exchange for his soul. If Jesus Christ has saved our soul today that is the most important life changing event ever in our lifetime. Let's thank the Lord daily for that salvation that can only come from the Lord.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord use me to lead other souls to the saving power of that precious blood.

PSALM 22: 7-11
Have you ever had someone make fun of you for your trust in the Lord? The psalmist here knew that feeling. But notice what the songwriter remembered about the Lord. The Lord had known the songwriter before he was even born. I love this in verse 10 thou art my God from my mother's belly. If the world is giving you a hard time today remember the Lord has known you and I before we were even born. Go right on serving the Lord anyhow. No matter what anybody says serve the Lord today.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord remind me to listen to you more than man.

LUKE 22: 31-34
In today's text poor Peter really believed that he was as close to the Lord Jesus as he could be. He was wrong. As Peter was telling the Lord I will go to prison for you or even die for you the Lord was telling Peter you are going to fail me very soon. And Peter did fail the Lord. The point, we had better be closer to the Lord than ever before these days. How do I do that? Pray more than ever before. Study the Bible more than ever before. Be in the House of God more than ever before.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord please draw me closer to you than ever before.

ISAIAH 42: 5-9
Daily scripture reminds us who God is. The creator of all things. The one who gave us breath. According to verse 6 he is the one that will keep you and I. He is the one that can and will open blind eyes. He is the one that will release the ones in a prison of sin. So no matter what you are going through today remember the Lord is still in control.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for always being there for me.

JOHN 21: 24-25
I love old John. This is the same John that penned down first second and third John. This is the same John that penned down the Book of Revelation and the gospel of John. This is the same John that walked with Jesus. He was the youngest of the 12. I love verse 25 here. Untold that Jesus did so much more while on this earth than even the gospel tells us. I know that I say this a lot but what a savior.

PROVERBS 13: 20
Today's text is short but very powerful. We had better be careful who we hang out with today. The Bible here declares walking with wise men will make a person wise. The Bible declares in the Gospel of Matthew that wise men seeking Jesus (Matthew 2 :1-2). But the scripture tells us that hanging out with fools will lead to destruction. Be careful who you hang out with today. PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord help me to be a blessing to all people and lead all to Jesus. Lord helped me to hang out with people who are wise enough to seek you. 5/18/26
HEBREWS 13: 8 I know that we have shared this scripture before but the Lord kept putting this verse on my heart this day. Maybe you needed to hear it again today. If you deal with a lot of people who seem to be moody sometimes they speak sometimes they don't, remember this. When you trust Jesus as your savior and Lord he never changes he is the same all the time.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for always being the unchangeable God.

JOSHUA 6: 1-3
Today's tech should teach you and I one thing God means what he says. Notice verse one tells us that Jericho already feared the children of Israel. The city was totally shut down. But notice God's victory was already given to Joshua and the people of God. Verse 2 tells us that the Lord told Joshua see have given into vine hand Jericho and the king thereof and the mighty men of valor. Friends before the battle Began it was over. The lesson today was God says if he will do something in your life it is already done.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for being a God of your word.

LUKE 17: 11-19
I heard a preacher preach on this text many years ago asking the question that Jesus asks here in verse 17. Where are the nine. Jesus healed 10 men with leprosy and only one came back to say thank you. Here is the point. How many times have I asked God in prayer to take care of a need, God took care of it, and how many times have we failed to thank God for that answered prayer. If God has gotten us through things on this day always go back to the Lord in prayer and say thank you.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord for the times that you have answered prayers in my life and I failed to give you the praise I thank you and praise you today.

ECCLESIASTES 3: 14
OK I know that I say this a lot but I love this verse of scripture. The Bible here is saying that when God does something it will last forever. I love how the verse says nothing can be put to it nor anything taken from it. In other words no one could make it better than what God made it and nobody can stop it. From my marriage to my church family when God made it it will last forever.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord remind me when you put something together it will last.

REVELATION 20: 11-15
Today's scripture reminds you and I that God's judgment is coming to those that will reject Jesus Christ. This text is dealing with the great white throne judgment. Notice verse 13 even death and hell give up the dead. In other words everyone who has died rejecting Jesus will one day stand by the judgment seat of the Lord. They will basically be asked why did you not ask Jesus in your life. No answer will be accepted. God is so just that he will give everyone the chance to answer period please tell someone about this scripture today. If they are not saved please ask them to call upon the Lord today to forgive them of their sin and be saved.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord please use me today to lead someone to you.

ZECHARIAH 2: 3
Notice something in today's scripture, the word seek is found three times in this verse. First we are told to seek the Lord, second to seek righteousness or godly living, and 3rd to seek meekness which means the quality of being humble and patient. Let's practice each of these seeks in the word today.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Help me Lord to seek what is pleasing to you today.

ACTS 3: 1-9
One thing this old preacher has learned today when a person turns to the Lord and asks for his help and his strength the Lord will bless way beyond what we ask for. Case in point, this man was begging for money, Peter and John come along and this man was blessed way beyond what he was asking for. Peter and John said we don't have money but what we do have we will give to you. They ask of Jesus Christ for the man to be healed. God answered that prayer. That man was never the same again. Remember put Jesus 1st and he will bless you beyond measure. PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord thank you for blessing me today. 5/25/26
DANIEL 7: 13-14
This is Old Testament reminding you and I about the millennial reign of Jesus Christ on this planet. This text comes alive in the book of the Revelation. Jesus Christ will come back to this earth one day and defeat the devil once and for all and rule this world for 1000 years. Then and only then will there be based on this earth. Wow what a message. Remember this, Jesus is coming to rapture his church out of this world and Jesus is coming to rule this world. What a savior we serve.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for being worthy to be crowned one day the king of kings and the Lord of Lords. 5/26/26
I CORINTHIANS 11: 23-25
Paul was given in this text what we will call today a Holy Communion. This was implemented in the upper room and what was known before as the Last Supper that Jesus shared with his disciples on the night of his arrest. As you study these verses today take note the body of Jesus was broken for you and I and his blood was shed for us. This is always a special time in the believer's heart to remember what the Lord has done for us.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for giving your all for me on that cross.

LEVITICUS 20: 13
This text is not politically correct. As a matter of fact the world does not like this verse. Friends men and women were put together by God to meet and fall in love and get married and have children. God never, never intended 2 men to marry as well as God never intended for women to marry women. The devil has misled so many people today. But remember God set up this years ago. Man and woman together and the marriage that God put together has not changed.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord we pray for the nation and the world today that they all remember what you ordained as marriage from the very beginning.

I CORINTHIANS 16: 1-2
Today's text deals with a subject that a lot of people say does not exist in the New Testament. That is the subject of tithing. A lot of people believe that tithing is only taught in the Old Testament. Read Malachi 3 verses 8 to 10. But the word of God points out here that the Lord tells Paul to share with the churches that on the Lord's day, the first day of the week, Tithe what God has blessed us with period friends I have learned this over the years, you cannot outgive the Lord. Friends it is not that God needs our money it is that we need to be obedient to the Lord. Do what God tells us to do and God will bless and take care of us beyond our needs.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for always taking care of me and my family.

PSALM 37: 1-2
Have you ever watched a neighbor or even a friend or family member that never attends church, never wants to hear anything about the Lord, never has any good words to say about the Lord and his people, yet they seem to make it better than you do. The Bible here is reminding us to get our minds off of them and keep our minds, our hearts, our focus on the things of God. The Lord reminds us he knows about those people and that he will deal with them in his time.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord please help me to keep my heart on you and not in this world.

II PETER 3: 1-7
This scripture jumps off of the page of my Bible every now and then. People are saying today I have heard that Jesus is coming for years, all my life, where is he? I love the question in verse 5. For this they willingly are ignorant. These people don't get the truth God set this in motion a long time ago. Jesus is coming. God's judgment is coming. Listen to the world, believe God. Jesus is coming.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for your word.

PSALM 122: 6
A lot of talk in this world today about the nation of Israel, about the city of Jerusalem. Here is what God commands his people to do. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. God even gives a promise with that statement. They shall prosper that love thee. Stop listening to the news. Stop listening to the politicians that trash Israel daily. Pray for Israel. Stand with Israel. Pray for Jerusalem.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord I pray for your blessings to be on Israel this day. Lord I pray for your peace to be on Jerusalem.
